manually on Windows.Prepare for an Agent Upgrade Manually
Follow these steps:
- If you have not already done so, read the Release Information. Do not upgrade the agent until you have read that information and understand it.
- Write down the current version of the agent.
- Uninstall the previous version of the agent.
Upgrade the Agent Manually
You upgrade the
CA Harvest SCM
agent so you can use the new product features.Follow these steps:
- Make sure you have completed all steps to prepare for the agent upgrade.
- Install the agent as if you were installing it for the first time.The agent is upgraded.
Prepare for the Client Upgrade Manually
Follow these steps:
- Do not upgrade the agent until you have read that information and understand it.
- Write down the current version of the client.
- Back up all custom files (including UDP scripts and forms) from the %HARVESTHOME% and %HARVESTHOME%\forms directories. Make note of your backup location.
- Back up any HClient.arg file that you use to connect to a specific product broker.
- Uninstall the previous version of the client.
Upgrade the Local Client
You upgrade the
CA Harvest SCM
client so you can use the new product features.Follow these steps:
- Verify that you have completed all steps to prepare for the client upgrade.
- Install the client as if you were installing it for the first-time.
- After the installation is complete, if you backed up custom files including UDP scripts and forms from your previous installation, copy these files back to the %CA_SCM_HOME% and %CA_SCM_HOME%\forms directories.The local client is upgraded.
Prepare for the Server Upgrade Manually
Follow these steps:
- If your DBMS version does not meet the requirements listed in theRelease Information, upgrade it to a supported release before upgrading the server.
- Write down the current version of the server.
- Back up your database and all custom files (including UDP scripts and forms) from the %HARVESTHOME% and %HARVESTHOME%\forms directories. Make note of your backup location.
- Uninstall the previous version of the server.
